ASHLYN KNIGHT, Women's Track & Field

Beloit Senior Ashlyn Knight has been named the NCKSSports.com/Cunningham Fiber Athlete of the Week.

Knight has excelled in track and field so far this spring, bringing home a combined nine medals from four meets throughout April.  She has claimed six gold medals with three individually and three on the 4x100m relay team.  She also has two silver medals and a bronze medal to her credit.

This past Tuesday, April 16 at the Belleville Lions Club Invitational, Knight brought home the gold in the 100m dash in the girls upper division race with a time of 13.36 and also helped the 4x100m relay team to the gold with a time of 53.40.  On Tuesday, April 9 at the Smith Center Redmen Relays, she accomplished the same feats, winning the 100m in 13.11 and helping the 4x100m relay team to a season best time of 51.74 on their way to the gold.  Knight also took first place in the 100m dash at the Clay Center meet on April 2 with a season best time of 12.99.  She also claimed 2nd in the javelin and was part of the 4x100m relay team that took 2nd place.  Her other medal this season came with a third place finish in the 100m at Concordia on April 4.
