There were six teams in the Hoisington Invitational Tennis Tournament: Central Plains, Scott City, St. John, Tribune, Osborne and host school Hoisington.
For Osborne #1 singles player Gracie Riner met up in the first match with St. John’s Blayr Doggett, winning that match 6-0, next up for Gracie was Tribune’s Kaitlyn Woelk, with Gracie victorious over Woelk 6-1, and her last match of the day was against Pool A winner Central Plains Kyla Metro with a loss for Riner 1-6. Gracie placed second in #1 singles overall.

#2 singles player Leavie Riner had a fantastic day of tennis, defeating all three of her opponents to take 1st place in Singles #2 category. She defeated Tribunes Reagan Crotinger 6-1, Hoisington’s Hallie Bingham-Debolt 6-1 and Scott City’s Erin Massaglia 6-0.

The #1 Doubles team of Cheyenne Knoll and Annie Kendig met up with Tribune’s Annabelle Schneider & Trinity Albers and were defeated 2-6. They turned their game around on the second match against Hoisington and were victorious over the team of Rayna Bray & Lauren Higgins 7-5. Their last match was hard fought and they fell short to the Scott City team of Madison Roberts & Tatum Wells 6-4.

The #2 doubles team consisting of Hayley Graf and Jayla O’Leary fell short on getting a win on all three Matches, but their much improved play was not indicative of their match scores as they had numerous close games. They took on Tribune with a score of 2-6, Hoisington’s doubles team of Hailey Peterslie & Reese Merlau 0-6 and last Scott City’s team of Jaiden Amerine and Tayler Koehler 0-6.

The girls continue to improve their play each week. The next tournament will be in Victoria on September 12th.
