Southeast of Saline Girls Win State Cross Country: Multiple Teams Bring Home Trophies

The Southeast of Saline girls cross country team claimed the 3A State title on Saturday at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence with 64 points to 108 for second place Cheney.  Multiple other teams brought home team trophies as well.  In 3A boys, Southeast of Saline finished 2nd place, the St. John's boys finished 2nd place at 1A in Wamego and the Sacred Heart girls were 3rd place in 2A in Wamego.

The top 20 runners at each meet brought home medals.  From the nckssports.com area, in 3A Girls, Southeast of Saline's Abby Commerford finished 5th, Ashley Prochazka was 7th and Breckyn Alderson took 10th.  Alayna Cossaart of Minneapolis finished 12th in the race.  In a loaded 3A Boys race, Southeast of Saline had four state medalists as Damion Jackson finished 5th, Levi Allen 6th, Brayden Walker 14th and Cayden Walker 15th.  In 1A Girls, Ryah Bertuccelli of Osborne took 13th place and Breanna Fast of Natoma was 17th.  In 1A Boys, Jonas Letourneau of St. John's brought home a 6th place medal and Jonny Hamel from Osborne finished 10th.  In the 2A Girls race, Sacred Heart had three state medalists with Gracy Dorzweiler in 13th, Eva Matteucci in 14th and Caroline Stone taking 18th.
