Thunderbird Invitational All-Star Games Set for Sunday

Cloud County Community College will be hosting the Thunderbird All-Star Invitational this Sunday, April 2 at Arley Bryant Gymnasium in Concordia.

The day will feature girls and boys basketball games and a volleyball match to wrap the event.  The girls basketball game is slated to tipoff at 1:00 p.m. with the boys to follow at 3:00.  First serve for the volleyball match is at 5:00.

Many area athletes have been selected to compete in the event.

Girls basketball all-stars from the area include: Kylie Bergmann from Lakeside, Trinity Lutters of Osborne, Lauren Whelchel from Rock Hills, St. John's/Tipton's Ella Wiles and Keeli Knobbe of Sylvan-Lucas wraps up NPL representatives.  Maile Hrabe of Smith Center along with Hannah Acree and Cianna DeLeon of Concordia are also participating.

NPL picks for the boys basketball all-stars include: Dylan Bice and Jashawn Dodds from Thunder Ridge along with Teagon Reeves of Pike Valley.  Aceyn Cash of Concordia and Trey Melton of Republic County were also picked.  Thunder Ridge head coach Devon Branch, who played collegiately at Cloud County, will be one of the boys head coaches as well.

Wiles of St. John's, Knobbe of Sylvan-Lucas, Hrabe from Smith Center and Acree of Concordia were also all selected for the volleyball all-star teams.  Other area volleyball all-starts include: Lauren Flavin from Pike Valley, Concordia's Shaelin Giersch and Jordan Peck and Halli Hodges from Minneapolis.
