Linn Selected to KVA Hall of Fame

The Kansas Volleyball Association has selected longtime Smith Center head coach Nick Linn for induction into the Hall of Fame for the Class of 2023.

Linn has had a legendary career leading the Lady Red volleyball and basketball programs.  Over the past 34 seasons in volleyball, his teams have made it to state in half of those seasons with 17 overall appearances.  Linn has led the Lady Red to the 2A State Championship match each of the last three seasons, winning the title in 2021 and finishing as state runner-up in 2020 and 2022.  Currently, the program is in the middle of a run where they have qualified for state six straight seasons and nine of the last ten.

In 2022, Linn surpassed the 1,000 win mark in his career.  In Smith Center's Sub-State championship win over Ellinwood, he picked up his 1,000th win.  He added four more wins at the state tournament.  He is 1,004-343 in his 34 seasons as the Lady Red head coach, including a mark of 83-7 in the last two seasons.
