Beloit Hosts Annual Cross Country Invitational
The Beloit Cross Country Invitational was held at Beloit Country Club on Thursday. In the girls varsity race, Madi Howland of Smith Center took the gold medal with a time of 15:28.20, 56 seconds better than the second place finisher. Hannah Bridwell of Concordia finished in the top five in fourth place. Sacred Heart won the team championship with 61 points, one ahead of Smoky Valley Home Educators in second. On the boys side, Carson Fouard of Ell-Saline took first place with a time of 13:24.30, 14 seconds ahead of second place Lance Lundine of Beloit. Jonny Hamel of Osborne finished third to round out area top five finishers. Smoky Valley Home Educators won the boys team title by 27 points over Bennington.
