Kattenberg Signs with Tabor Basketball

On Tuesday, Smith Center senior Dakota Kattenberg signed her letter of intent to play collegiate basketball at Tabor College in Hillsboro.

Kattenberg had a stellar career at Smith Center, being named an all-Mid-Continent League selection each of the past three seasons.  She was a first team pick this year, second team as a junior and on the third team as a sophomore.  She was also recently named a third team all-State pick in 2A.

Kattenberg started in all 94 games of her career and helped lead Smith Center to a 17-6 record and Sub-State runner-up finish this season.  She averaged 16.6 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 3.7 apg and 2.9 spg.  She shot 46% from the floor, 70% (71-102) from the free throw line and made 17 three-pointers in 2023-24.

Dakota is the daughter of Denyse and David Kattenberg.
