Remus Resigns As Beloit Girls Basketball Coach
After seven seasons at the helm, Shauna Remus has submitted her resignation as head coach of the Beloit girls basketball team. It comes on the heels of one of the most successful seasons in her tenure in 2023-24 as the Lady Trojans went 15-6 and 8-2 in the North Central Activities Association this past season, claiming a share of the league title. It marked the first league championship for Beloit since the 2019-20 season.
Beloit won three league championships under Remus including the two previously mentioned and also in her first season in 2017-18. The league titles in 2018 and 2020 were both outright. The 2017-18 team went 18-4 and 11-1 in the NCAA, marking the best season in Remus' seven years on the bench.
In all, Remus compiled an 80-66 overall record and went 49-26 in league games. Her teams posted winning records in four of the past seven seasons and made it to the Sub-State semifinals four times as well. The 2023-24 Lady Trojans had the best turnaround under Remus as their 15-6 record marked a win improvement of 11 games after going 4-17 in 2022-23.
