Cloud County Hosts Annual Thunderbird All-Star Games

The 2024 Thunderbird All-Star Games were held on Sunday at Arley Bryant Gymnasium at Cloud County Community College in Concordia.  In the girls game, the Black team coach by Frankfort's Brian Ebert won 86-43 over the Gold coached by Trey Kuhlman of Concordia.  Maggie Toerber of Valley Heights had a game high 18 for the winning squad in black.  Kiera Jones of Chapman led the Gold team with 13 points.

In the boys contest, the Gold team coached by Curtis Pickering of Bennington won 76-71 over the Black squad lead by Justin Steinbrock of Clifton-Clyde.  Quevon Purucker of Salina South had a game high 20 for the Gold.  Bryce Beisner of Beloit led the Black with 17 points in the loss.  Scoring summaries are below.

The 2024 Thunderbird All-Star Games will be held this Sunday, April 14 with a girls and boys doubleheader from Arley Bryant Gymnasium at Cloud County Community College in Concordia.  The girls contest will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the boys to follow at 2:30. 

In all, 11 nckssports.com area athletes and one coach were selected for the game.  Trey Kuhlman of Concordia is one of the girls coaches and Carlie Carlgren of Concordia and Peyton Remus of Beloit will play on his team.  Brian Ebert of Frankfort is coaching team two on the girls side, which features four area athletes: Dakota Kattenberg of Smith Center, Aubrey Gengler and Jenna Gengler of St. John's/Tipton and Kamryn Rietzke from Thunder Ridge.

On the boys side, all of our area players are on Team 1 coached by Justin Steinbrock of Clifton-Clyde.  Bryce Beisner and Quinn Eilert of Beloit were selected as well as Payton Breese, Joey Henderson and Jonathan Turner of Concordia.

2024 Thunderbird All-Star Game Rosters
