Sheets Returns to Republic County Boys Basketball

Longtime Republic County and Belleville coach Alan Sheets is returning to the Buffaloes boys basketball team, the school announced on Thursday.  Sheets will fill the boys head coaching vacancy and brings over 31 years of basketball coaching experience to the program.

Sheets last coached the boys team in 2012 and spent 2013-17 as the girls coach.  From Jesy Strnad at KR 92 Radio, Sheets brings an overall record of 451-194 to the table, with one boys State title in 1999.  He took the boys team to nine State tournaments in his time and the girls team made it to State twice with Sheets on the bench.  Along with the title in 1999, Sheets has led the boys to second, third and fourth place State finishes.
