Brummet Signs with FHSU Track & Field

Lakeside Senior Lauren Brummet has signed her letter of intent to compete in track and field at the collegiate level.  On Friday, Brummet inked with Fort Hays State University.

Brummet is a 6-time KSHSAA State Track & Field medalist.  Her biggest success has come in the javelin, in which she has medaled at State every year of her career.  She finished 3rd in both 2021 and 2022 and took home a 7th Place medal in 2023.  Brummet has also competed at State in the triple jump and high jump individually throughout her career.  Earlier this week, she set the Lakeside school record in the high jump at 5'2 1/4".

A three-sport star, Brummet has been an All-State selection by the KVA the past three seasons, picked for the second team in 2021 and honorable mention in 2022 and 2023.  She also was a Northern Plains League all-league first team selection the past three years.  In basketball, she was an all-state honorable mention pick and was a second team all-NPL pick this past season.
