Darrow Set to Retire at Minneapolis; Resigns at Boys Hoops Coach

After 24 seasons as a head basketball coach at Minneapolis, John Darrow is stepping down.  Darrow spent 15 years leading the girls team and for the past nine years has been the head coach of the Lions' boys squad.

According to Tyler Henry with Salina Post, Darrow is finishing out the school year teaching high school algebra and physics but will retire after this second semester.

Darrow compiled an overall record of 75-114 with the Minneapolis boys program.  The best stretch in that time featured three straight winning seasons from 2018-2021, compiling a record of 42-21 overall and 22-10 in the NCAA.  The past three seasons, the Lions have combined to win just four league games.  This past season, Minneapolis was 4-17 and 2-8 in the NCAA.
