Bergmann Named St. John's/Tipton Football Coach

In search of a new high school football coach since the end of the 2023 season, St. John's/Tipton has found their new leader.  Lance Bergmann has been named the new head coach for the Blujays, replacing Dean Gengler, who stepped down in late October after leading the program for five seasons, compiling a 26-21 record.

This will be the first football job for Bergmann at the high school level, but his roots run deep at St. John's.  A 2001 graduate of St. John's Catholic High School, Bergmann has been the boys basketball coach since 2009-10, coaching one season with St. John's only and from 2010-11 until now, he has coached the St. John's/Tipton cooperative.  Bergmann has a 255-93 overall record in that time and has led the St. John's/Tipton boys to the state tournament six times, including a 1A-DII state title in 2014.

We will continue to follow this story at nckssports.com and KD Country 94 & Z 96.3 "The Lake" Sports as we hope to talk with Bergmann in the coming days about his new role.
