Riner Signs with Pitt State Track & Field
Osborne senior Gracie Riner signed her letter of intent to compete in track and field at Pittsburg State University on Thursday. Riner will throw the javelin for the Gorillas.
In 2024, Riner has competed in six events so far, claiming four gold medals, a silver and a bronze in the javelin this spring. She took first at LaCrosse, St. John's, the Kaser Relays at home in Osborne and at Logan. She took second place at the Beloit Relays and third at the Smith Center Redmen Relays. Her top throw this season was 137'8" at Beloit last Friday.
Riner has qualified and medaled at State in all three of her previous seasons in the javelin. In 2023, she finished 2nd in 1A with a throw of 138'8". In 2022 and 2021, she brought home the fourth place medal in 1A.
