ANNIE KENDIG, Women's Wrestling

Osborne Sophomore Annie Kendig has been named the NCKSSports.com/Cunningham Telephone and Cable Athlete of the Week.

Kendig had a big day at the Hoisington Cardinal Wrestling Round Robin last Thursday, January 10, going 5-0 and claiming first place in the 115# weight class.  Kendig won every match by fall, beating Kyrsten Young of Lyons in 5:57, Allie Hernandez of Wichita County in 5:29, Courtney Craft from Larned in 2:59, Alvera Reich of Bluestem in 3:39 and Josie Keener of Abilene in 3:31 in what ended up being the championship match.  It was the second gold medal of the season for Kendig as she also won the Abilene Invitational on December 14.  She finished 2nd at the Hoxie Invitational on December 2 and 5th at the Larned Round Robin on January 4.  Kendig is now 11-4 on the season.
