Duskie Resigns as Lakeside Football Coach

Lakeside football coach Drew Duskie has resigned after 10 seasons leading the Knights program.  Duskie's resignation was approved at the USD 272 Board of Education meeting on Monday night.

Duskie has also been the boys basketball coach at Lakeside for the past seven seasons and serves as the high school athletic director.  He will retain those positions moving into the 2024-25 school year.

Over 10 seasons as the football coach, Duskie compiled a 38-53 record.  Early in his tenure, he had some young and inexperienced teams, but the Knights found success over the past five seasons.  Lakeside posted a winning record in each of those seasons from 2019-2023, compiling a 27-18 record over that stretch.  This past season, the Knights went 6-3.

Duskie cited more time with family as his reason for stepping aside from the head coaching job in football.  He was also an assistant coach for the Lakeside track and field teams this spring, so he looks forward to having a season off in the fall.  KD Country 94 Sports Director Dusty Deines talked with Duskie about his decision and you can listen to that interview on Wednesday morning on the Sports Ticket on KD Country 94 and kdcountry94.com.  The show starts at 9:10 a.m.
